Due to the private nature of college athletics marketing, I am happy to share more details on specific plans and analytics upon personal request for interested employers.
Please contact me for specific examples of marketing plans I wrote and implemented at Purdue University or University of Notre Dame.
Below are some overarching details of the marketing plan I developed and implemented for Notre Dame Women's Basketball.
I was a full-time marketing and creative intern for Notre Dame Athletics for the 2018-2019 season. In addition to being primary for a few other Notre Dame teams, I was the secondary marketing contact for was the Notre Dame Women's Basketball Team (ND WBB) with one of the full-time (non-seasonal) marketing staff acting as the primary. When I started, they had just won the 2018 NCAA National Championship.
A few months into my internship, a few weeks before the ND WBB marketing prep was suppose to begin, my full-time marketing staff member who would be primary put in her notice. Due to the timing, I was put in charge of planning the 2018-2019 marketing for the reigning National Champ on my own.
During this time I was able to complete the goal of selling out season tickets. I planned the set the game theme and promotional schedule and worked with our sponsorship teams to fill all sponsorship promises, as well as with vendors to get the best pricing and meet deadlines. I worked with the NCAA to get special approval to use an image of the NCAA Championship Trophy on our poster.
Additionally I planned and coordinated the Ball Out at the Bookstore event, which was the pre-season autograph session for the men's and women's basketball team. While the original event was rained out, I was able to quickly adapt to move the event indoors and still have the autograph event for fans.
Throughout the pre-, regular, and post-season, I was able to design a lot of the graphics collateral for the team, from player award graphics for social media, promotional materials, and in-game screen advertisements. Additionally, I created some gifs for use on the ND WBB Twitter page for player's big plays, and created videos for the post season.
